-Reputation Rank refers to the minimum level of [[Reputation|reputation]] a player needs to have in a region before they will have a one in 50 chance of recruiting a monster to their party after winning a battle against one or more of that type of monster.  With the exception of characters that already existed prior to the implementation of companions in v1.63, a character starts out at the lowest rank (Neutral) in each region that they had visited.
