One of the Pirate Ghosts wandering through Piatta Cave is Captain Rum Chugger. Pirate Ghosts' element is Spirit. In order to progress the Dead Men Tell No Tales quest (found in the Pirate Base) a player/party must find the correct Pirate Ghost (chosen at random when the player/party enters the cave) and talk to it. Talking to any other Pirate Ghost results in a fight, albeit one that the player/party can run away from.
