When referring to monsters it includes all monsters of the same species/class. When referring to players it includes every member in the party regardless of their class. For example:

- Two slimes are a group.
- One slime and one spider are not a group.
- Three soldiers are a group.
- A cleric, a soldier and a wizard are a group.

So, any skill or spell that targets a group will hit every target in examples 1, 3 and 4. This distinction between monster groups and player groups can be important in PvP, where a spell such as Electro acts the same as Lightning in terms of how many targets it will hit.
