The Black Sanctum can be accessed by entering the building directly south of the Ardan bank, or by entering the cave south of Verity. You must have slain Midgard to enter the Black Sanctum. There are two quests available to those who have not gained entrance (Monster Hunt and Shades of Evil) and an additional five quests available to those who have gained entrance.

Two of those five remaining quests (Small and Smaller and Malicious Intent) require completion of the Eye See What You Do There quest in order to access the Sanctum's inner Keep where they can be accepted and completed. In turn, the Eye See What You Do There quest along with the Spell of Warding quest can not be completed without setting foot in the Sanctum's Pools of Warding. The last quest, Ghost Hunt, requires access to the Keep in order to have access to every area of the Sanctum that houses a Specter.

The Small and Smaller quest is unique in that it rewards two Sanctum Badges upon completion whereas every other quest rewards one. Altogether, the Sanctum's quests allow for a maximum of eight badges to be collected each day.
