Reputation Rank refers to the minimum level of reputation a player needs to have in a region before they will have a one in 50 chance of recruiting a monster to their party after winning a battle against one or more of that type of monster. With the exception of characters that already existed prior to the implementation of companions in v1.63, a character starts out at the lowest rank (Neutral) in each region that they had visited.
The five possible ranks are:
- Neutral (5)
- Admired (4)
- Honored (3)
- Revered (2)
- Exalted (1)
Rank does not transfer from region to region so a player who reaches Rank 2 in the Balzackia/Ennar/Crypt region will not automatically be Rank 2 in, say, the Piatta/Bedoe (Highlands) region.
