Balzackia is a powerful nation located in a somewhat isolated portion in the eastern reaches of the western continent. The country is densely forested and surrounded by natural barriers of steep mountain ranges to the south and west and ocean to the east and north.

King Balzack rules this country with an iron fist and is backed by an army of fiercely loyal soldiers. The kingdom has a very expansionist policy when it comes to forcing their ideals on neighboring countries, therefore the Balzackians have waged many wars over the last several centuries. At least one of these wars took place overseas in areas such as Bedoe and Ardan.

Steamonia Tower is a dungeon added to the game in celebration of NEStalgia's Greenlight campaign[[http://putnestalgiaonsteam.com/]]. It is a multi-level tower that makes numerous references to Valve's more famous games. The dungeon is accessed by sleeping at any inn with a [[Dream Stone]] in your inventory, which you get from [[Messenger]] at the end of the [[Piatta Cave]]. Travel through the tower involves the use of two portal wands to teleport between areas, and even floors.

It was added back into the game as a permanent event when NEStalgia was Greenlit on Steam.

Merchants are well-rounded in terms of physical prowess, able to match a [[soldier]] in terms of attack power and defense so long as their Credit holds up. Magically, a merchant can weather multi-target damage fairly well in spite of poor intelligence growth if built for it, but single-target damage will still be a notable concern. Merchants are among the best classes when it comes to grinding due to being able to easily accumulate bonuses to gold find and item find, as well as the ability to replenish the charges on certain items and equipment such as the [[Malevolent Staff]].

Overall, merchants can fit in with most any party and hold their own.

Merchants can equip Swords, Abaci and Daggers. They use Medium to Heavy Armor. In their offhand slot, Merchants equip coin bags which offer defense and stat boosts.

== Credit System ==

The merchant does not have mana in the normal sense. Instead they use a system called Credit to activate their abilities. A Merchant has a maximum of 600 credits and gains these credits by either attacking or being attacked.

== Skill Trees ==

Skill Trees are the basis of leveling and customizing your character in NEStalgia. The skill tree menu unlocks at level 5 and at that point the player will be able to customize their character with available skill points. There are two ways to gain additional points:

*Gain an experience level, which grants one point.<BR>
*Progress through the plot of the game, which grants one point after completing the main quest connected to Verity's lighthouse and an additional point after completing the main quest connected to the Arctic's ice palace.<BR>

As of v1.68 this allows for a maximum of 30 points to spend.

Balzackia is a powerful nation located in a somewhat isolated portion in the eastern reaches of the western continent. The country is densely forested and surrounded by natural barriers of steep mountain ranges to the south and west and ocean to the east and north.

King Balzack rules this country with an iron fist and is backed by an army of fiercely loyal soldiers. The kingdom has a very expansionist policy when it comes to forcing their ideals on neighboring countries, therefore the Balzackians have waged many wars over the last several centuries. At least one of these wars took place overseas in areas such as Bedoe and Ardan.

Steamonia Tower is a dungeon added to the game in celebration of NEStalgia's Greenlight campaign[[http://putnestalgiaonsteam.com/]]. It is a multi-level tower that makes numerous references to Valve's more famous games. The dungeon is accessed by sleeping at any inn with a [[Dream Stone]] in your inventory, which you get from [[Messenger]] at the end of the [[Piatta Cave]]. Travel through the tower involves the use of two portal wands to teleport between areas, and even floors.

It was added back into the game as a permanent event when NEStalgia was Greenlit on Steam.

===Notes===

#Most quests that are not connected to the main storyline (i.e., [[A Slippery Situation]], [[Acheron's Awakening]], etc) will give 100 reputation in the area you received them. Exceptions to this note are the [[Monster Hunt]] quests found in the Black Sanctum; completing these quests give 100 reputation in the area the monsters are found in.
#Black Sanctum quests can be completed each day. If a player has previously completed a daily quest, it is necessary to manually reset the quest log before credit for that quest can be received again. This feature allows players to complete long or sequential quests at their own pace.
#Every Black Sanctum quest aside from [[Monster Hunt]] and [[Ghost Hunt]] is considered a daily quest. Those two quests do not require a reset but they also change their focus to a different monster and ghost at the start of a new day, automatically removing themselves from a player's quest list if left uncompleted. Quest items obtained during either Hunt are retained though, allowing the player to hand them in the next time that the related quest is active. All players logged in at the time of the new day's start will be notified by a message in their chat window that uses text in a font that is larger than normal.
#To reset [[Daily Quests|Daily Quests]], click the "Reset Dailies" button at the bottom of the quest log as shown by the accompanying picture to the right. Even veteran players can forget to reset their daily quests, so the partyleader should make sure to remind everyone before accepting any daily quests.
